The Philosophy of Form and Color
When perceiving any physical form, our mind responds
to the character of the specific form. Everything
that we see has a form or is given form by our perception. Each form that we perceive evokes or is
capable of evoking some kind of response in us.
In other words everything has a form and all form has some form of
content or spirit. Artists understand
this and manipulate form in order to express certain and not readily apparent contents. Form is what we see and content is what we
interpret as the meaning of what we see.
The relationships between form and content are dynamic. As form changes so
does content. This exhibition will feature selected paintings
and drawings from my collection from different periods and stages of my work and
will illustrate what I mean by this relationship of form and content.
